Riley is a Senior Consulting Actuary with PBI Actuarial Consultants Ltd. in Vancouver. He has over 15 years of experience in actuarial consulting. He provides actuarial, pension, group benefits, and investment consulting services. Riley has a particular expertise in advising multi-employer pension and health & welfare benefit plan clients on plan design, administration, governance, and actuarial issues.
Prior to joining PBI, Riley worked as the Regional Vice President of Plan Benefits of a National insurance and group benefits firm. Riley is experienced in advising the trustees and committee members of multi-employer and public sector plans. He provided asset-liability management, plan policy design and revision, fund and manager monitoring, industry trends research, and client education work.
Riley holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Finance from the University of Alberta. He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). Riley has served as a member of the Financial Service Commission of Ontario’s multi-employer advisory committee and a past member of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ Investment Practice Committee and Pension Investment Practice subcommittee.
He is a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences on pension, investment and benefit issues for organists such as the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP).
