On February 27, 2018, Minister of Finance Bill Morneau presented the 2018 Canada Federal Budget titled Equality + Growth: A Strong Middle Class. The third budget from the Liberal federal government focuses on gender equality, working middle-class families with children, seniors, and future retirees.
Budget 2018 provides additional details about investments promised in the previous budget and includes additional spending in research and innovation, cybersecurity, skills training with a focus on gender equality, and to improve the socio-economic conditions of Canada’s Indigenous children and families.
