On March 26, Alberta’s Finance Minister Robin Campbell presented the provincial budget titled Budget 2015. Budget 2015 focuses on diversifying sources of government revenues in order to reduce its reliance on oil revenues. The budget also included some spending cuts as the province’s forecasted deficit for this year will be around $5 billion. Some of the most significant budget cuts were made to health care, non-teaching related education, and post-secondary education funding.
